Cambox Repairs

Norton cambox repairs with a few of the stripped threads replaced with threaded brass inserts.

Repaired the cam shroud cover on some magnesium cambox's. This is done by machining away the original broken shroud and replacing it with a newly machined aluminum one. The picture above shows the cambox as its coming out the dichromate bath, with the aluminum shroud remaining a light aluminum colour. The dichromate stains the magnesium a dark colour and helps to protect it against corrosion. This was a process that the factory used on all its magnesium castings even pre-war.
